You do not have to be a fashion blogger to dread these two words...closet space. As bumper-to-bumper is to traffic jam, then hanger-to-hanger is definitely a thing. Closet jam? Whether you're a minimal jeans and a t-shirt type or an all-out fashionista, we all can relate to that "oh no" closet moment when not one thing can be moved a good inch. With fashion being a passion of mine, you better believe that is not a rare moment. Imagine how ready I was to get a chance to have a consultation with California Closets for an idea of a potential dream closet, and learn new tips and tricks to maximize space. Let me bring you along the process of designing a dream closet!
First off, don't let the name fool you. California Closets also provides custom organizational solutions for pantries down to garages. Any space in your house which can be made more efficient, they got you covered.
As for the consultation (I had visited their Boca Raton location, and was shown the ins and outs by the lovely and helpful designer Caroline), you get to work with a professional design consultant who will assist you in creating a custom design based on your space requirements, your style, and of course, your budget (speaking of budget, many of their locations have seasonal promotions/financing options, so remember to inquire!).
Next, your space measurements will be taken, and you'll be able see designs and products via their digital showroom on either an Ipad or computer which is very convenient and even exciting having visuals of the possible outcome.
Then you'll decide on the look you're going for based on their various product lines and finishes.
Lastly, they take it from there!
I highly recommend going for a consultation because not only do you have a designer guiding you every step of the way, they're able to work around your budget. And as organizing expert Marie Kondo said for a California Closets collaboration, "the process of organizing your home is life-changing". As for a simple tip to start maximizing your closet space, Marie Kondo suggests picking only the pieces which spark joy for you and waving off to the others. :)
